About Us

We live in Israel and each of us students live in a different place and have a different way of life.

Some students live in cities, others live in Moshav, Moshava, Communal Settlements, some in Kibbutz and some students live in the boarding school, which is part of Hamosad Mevoot Eron - our school, in Hebrew it’s The Educational Institution Mevoot Eron - or in brief it is - "Hamosad".

Our school is located next to Ein Shemer (kibbutz). It formed in 1949 and is in ownership of 4 'kibbutzim' and was originally a Kibbutz School which means only children from the kibbutzim could attend; however a few years ago it opened its doors to students from the surroundings.

Mevoot Eron is middle and high school combined. "HaMosad" is currently half a boarding school, where "Kibbutznickim" (people from a kibbutz) and NAALE (Teens Immigrating before parents) live. Today even students from the cities have the option to board and be part of the vast social life we build together.

Mevoot Eron is very liberal, it strides for equality and peace. In the crew there are students from the 11th and 12th grade (the age is between 15-18) At "HaMosad" FIRST is incorporated into the optional Robotics major at the school.

We have the option to write a report about our FIRST experiences, for this report we receive five points for our matriculation certificate.

This is our team's fifth year taking part in the FIRST Robotics Competition (FIRST Israel started in 2005). Our crew has build of 26 students from all over the area. Each team member brings his own knowledge and strengths to the team. Why are we special? Because we believe that a team can be strong only if it is built from individuals working and learning together and from each other. Every year we create everything from scratch, we don't even build our chassis in the off-season, and everything was made during the 6 weeks project time (only 42 days.)

We put a lot of energy and get a lot of satisfaction from being a part of the robotics trend and when we will finish school this year we will look back and be thankful for the many opportunities the school opened for us.

In Israel when one finishes high school s/he goes to the army (IDF). Men serve for 3 years and women for 2. All throughout high school this is a big issue that occupies our thoughts of the future.

Israel as you probably know is never quite at peace. The borders with our neighboring countries are not steady. We feel this country is our home but it is also the home for others. Our hope is that one day all the different nations and people who live in and around Israel will find peace within themselves and with each other so that we can grow together and nurture each other with knowledge, business and life.
