Mentors
What exactly is the mentor's job?
The mentor's job is exactly what it sounds like, a spiritual teacher. The mentor's job is to teach, help, come up with suggestions but never ever do the task for us.
A mentor is there to tell you how you can be better, in every aspect, whether it's in personal life or a school issue. A mentor is not like your every day teacher, especially our robotics one. By working together for so many hours, you form a bind with him, in a special way, he doesn't just grade you, he helps you do so well so a 100 is the only option.
In conclusion, a mentor is not there just to teach you, or fix something that you've broken, he's there to teach you about yourself and your abilities. If you'll break something, he will teach you how to fix it, but "You Will Fix It", and in the end you will be the one that will have achieved something.
Our Mentors
Our main mentor, Eyal Hershko, the regional Woddie Flowers awards winner for year 2007, has been teaching robotics in our school for over 15 years.
Also we get big help from Yehuda Yamay, Hefestus' Joint Managing Director, a part time mentor and sponsor.
And from Arik Barkai, a senior Instrumentation & Control engineer at TEVA, president of ISA Israel and he is also Gal's father.
Our young mentors
Not only adults help us, we also get help from our friends - Leor Buch and Tamuz Ofer, Aur Saraf, that have 2 years of FIRST experience, and they come to share their experience with us.
We get a lot of help from our mentors. Thank you very much for your help and guidance! Without you we would probably still be standing here looking at the boxes and wondering where to begin.
